This stained glass front door is installed at a little cottage in the seaside town of Broadstairs on the Kent coast. My clients wanted a traditional look but with a bit of contemporary flair. It features a favourite bird of theirs - a red necked parakeet, the feel and landscape of Viking Bay lined with beach huts and fuschia flowers, a favourite flower which are planted outside just by this door and finally the landmark North Foreland lighthouse on the cliff tops nearby.
"We were very fortunate to have Grace design and install a stained glass panel in our 17th century home. Her artwork elegantly incorporates local landmarks such as the North Foreland lighthouse, Beach Huts and White Cliffs as well as the flora and fauna that beautifully capture the essence of Broadstairs in the 21st century. The panel itself was made of handmade glass, which Grace subsequently etched and painted. Beautiful!"
