Although most of the commissions Grace undertakes are windows, she also makes work that is mounted on slimline lightboxes allowing glass work to be wall mounted in any space. These lightboxes allow the glass to be enjoyed where little or no natural light is available.
Grace’s unique and contemporary style of stained glass is strongly rooted in her drawing practice. Her work studying light and its effects on the man-made environment has found its ultimate expression in her cycle of vibrant glass ‘paintings’.
She has explored glass both as a medium to affect the environment around it and as a painting and drawing medium in its own right. Using traditional skills of painting, etching and staining glass, Grace carefully layers and combines abstract and graphic elements to dramatic effect, translating the drawn image back into light.
