LIGHTBOXES

These lightboxes — stained glass panels mounted on slimline lighting panels — allow the glass to be enjoyed where little or no natural light is available. They can be stand-alone artworks or part of a larger lighting scheme. The contemporary style of my own designs is strongly rooted in my drawing practice.

I’ve explored glass both as a medium to affect the environment around it and as a painting and drawing medium in its own right. Using traditional skills of painting, etching and staining glass, I carefully layer and combine abstract and graphic elements to dramatic effect, translating a drawn image back into light. The multiple layers of glass in these artworks give depth and vibrancy.
